Vic: Vic power dispute gets darker
After a night of negotiating, the parties in the Yallourn power dispute in Victoria
have failed to reach a settlement.
Yallourn Energy rejected the resolution brokered by government mediator NEIL POPE after
20 hours of continous talks with the union ended at 5am this morning.
Electrical Trades Union secretary DEAN MIGHELL says the unions are disappointed with
what he called the arrogance of Yallourn Energy not to accept the umpire's decision.
Company spokesman MIKE JOHNSTON says the solution proposed by the mediator required
it accept a closed shop and …
